AGROPILOTO'S HISTORY
Our story begins at a dinner party aroung mid-2009. Agropiloto's project developer was at that time consulted by agricultural producers about the posibility of designing a new satellite guided device for presicion agriculture. It should be easier to operate and and less expensive than the ones already available in the market.
Taking these requirements into account, our engineer started his market and field research. Then, he began to develop the software able to reproduce the trail on the screen while fertilising. Once the engineer finished with the system development, the first devices were handed in to some of his friends for testing on the fields. Their comments and suggestions were then taken into consideration in order to improve the original product. By mid-2010, the system was fully developed and the commercialization stage began.
During August 2010, the first Agropiloto devices were launched in the market running on a 5 inches touch screen. In 2011, the new version, model G5001, is released. It incorporates an external GPS antenna and some other new features. This new model immediately reached the small and medium scale producers, due to its low cost and excellent performance.
By mid-2012, over 200 devices had already been installed all around the country. Furthermore, Agropiloto devices are now being sold in Uruguay, Bolivia, Brazil and Colombia as well. The users' requirements compelled us to start a new process of research about new technologies with the aim of developing an improved and more powerful device that is able to satisfy the users' growing needs.
By the end of 2012, together with the growing demmand and the development of brand new products, we partnered Alco Rosario S.A. in order to commercialize our products both, in the domestic and Latinamerican market, through their regional partners.
We have participated in Agroactiva 2013 fair held in Cañada de Gomez, Santa Fe. During the fair, we introduced our new product Agropiloto G700 to the market. Agropiloto G700 is a satellite guided computer that also allows users to incorporate new functions like automatic sections cutting and liquids flow controller.
